Season 5 of the Formula E championship saw the introduction of the new 2nd generation Formula E car and what a looker it is. Its design certainly suits the forward-looking, futuristic nature of the series, with hints of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet thrown in for good measure (never a bad thing).
For a first piece featuring the new car I decided to keep with the futuristic theme and created a backdrop inspired by the old Super-Nintendo game F-Zero – quite apt for a zero-emission motorsport.
Once the initial artwork was created I expanded on the F-Zero link. As any older gamers might remember, these games often came with a small poster of the game artwork. I decided to continue this theme and feature the design on a mock poster for a fictional SNES Formula E; Gen 2 video game.
