The May (2019) issue of Road & Track magazine saw Travis Tokulski (@tokulski) take the reigns as editor-in-chief and for his first issue, the motorsport issue, R&T’s resident photographer Dave Burnett (@puppy_knuckles) came up with the wild idea of a photo/illustration hybrid image for the front cover. The concept was based around the idea of being stuck in traffic in downtown Manhattan whilst day-dreaming about escaping onto a fantasy racetrack – this was where I came in…
Working with Dave was an absolute pleasure and with a tight deadline we managed to put the cover together in the matter of a few days. See the pictures below for his description of how it all came together.
